Now that’s what I call a cocktail.

Who’s been to America??? Did you love it or hate it??? Personally I can not get enough of this amazing country, which is why I’m currently traveling East to West with my partner. We started in New York a week ago, then moved on to Washington and currently I am lying in our hotel room in Chicago. These three places are not that far apart in terms of distance but they couldn’t be further apart in other ways. One things for sure though the American people are so so friendly, they are so complimentary if they like your hair or nails etc then they tell you. If they see you looking lost on the street (this has happened more than once) then they stop and ask if you need any help. If I had any chance at all to move here I would move without a second thought.

Glamorous Ladies Event.

Hi all.

So I finally have 5 mins to write a quick blog post. So I thought I would write about how excited I am about tomorrows event. I hold one of these events every month and its a great way to network and market my business but it also means I get to work with some amazing Vendors who can market their businesses at the same time. To top all this off we work with a different Charity each month, whom we invite along free of charge to promote, sell and raise awareness for their charity.

This month we have invited a local animal rescue along, S.A.T was founded in 1992 by a group of people of all nationalities who saw the need for a sanctuary for the abandoned dogs that roamed the streets of Torrevieja. Today, with its kennels at Dolores which can home up to 70 dogs, it is still a multi-national organisation and a registered charity with the Valencian Community. The Volunteers from the Los Montesinos Shop will be giving their time to raise money for this wonderful Charity.

Its a great thing to be able to host these events and know that we are helping raise money for Charity at the same time. S.A.T in Los Montesinos was the first place I worked when I moved to Spain and the first charity I had volunteered for. It gave me a great opportunity to meet new people and make some great friends, in not only a new area but a totally new country. Its nice to be able to give them something back.

Summer Essentials

So your summer holidays are booked and your getting excited. It’s time to start thinking about what to pack. Younique have two items that are essential for your suitcase.

Younique’s rose water is so versatile.

1. As a toner.

I use my rose water at least twice a day as a toner. I use the Illuminate Clear to wash my face and then I spray 3 squirts of rose water on a cotton ball and wipe it over my face (and neck, too). Once that dries, I use Divine Daily Moisturizer and my face has never felt better. I do this in the morning and before I go to bed.

2. As a refresher.

I squirt rose water all over my face to feel fresher. It gives my face relief and feels SO nice!

3. Wrinkles.

Let’s face it; wrinkles are a part of life! We will all get wrinkles at some point, but why not do what you can to help minimize them. Rose water helps to prevent aging because it tightens your skin’s pores, which can help reduce wrinkles! Who doesn’t want that?!

4. Remove Makeup.

You can use rose water to take off your makeup. It removes the dirt and oil that can hang out in your pores. It’s also a great way to remove any eye makeup. Some people add it to coconut oil to remove eye make up.

5. Remove redness.

I don’t know about you, but my face gets really red when I exercise. Like embarrassing, don’t want to leave the house or gym red. Since rose water has anti-inflammatory properties, spritzing a little on your face can take away any redness and irritation because when you excercise and get all red your pores are opening up and all that sweat, oils and dirt are getting in your pores. When you spritz the Rose Water on your face it constricts the pores preventing all that junk getting in there and causing acne. So, it helps to calm your skin!

6. To set makeup.

When you are finished applying your makeup, a couple of squirts of rose water can be applied on top to set your makeup and give it a nice and finished look.

7. Puffiness.

You can also put your bottle of rose water in the refrigerator to cool it off so that you can use it on any puffiness around your eyes. Once it’s cold, apply the rose water to a cotton ball and place it on top of your eyes. It’s amazing and even better than using cucumbers, in my opinion! It really helps with my puffiness and dark circles.

8. Irritation from Shaving.

If your legs are sensitive and get irritated after you shave, try applying rose water to your newly-shaven legs. The properties of rose water will heal and calm any irritation and it feels wonderful!

9. Sunburn Treatment.

Spritz the Rose Water on your Sunburn for instant relief.

10. Hair softener.

Mix rose water in your regular shampoo to get softer and fresher hair. Massaging your hair with rose water promotes hair-growth. You can also spritz it on your dry hair before heading out to soften. I like to spritz it in my hair to calm the frizzing.🙂

I Made My Promotion

So its been a crazy couple of weeks. I’ve been working super hard on my business and also on an Event i’m organising for my business and other small businesses. I want so bad for this event to go smoothly and be a success. I want to make it work for the people i’m working with, even more than for myself. Its been great getting to meet with them and speaking with them on Facebook. The plan for this event is for it to be held once a month and then I also want to hold another event, also once a month in a different location.

Last week I earn’t my second promotion which was a big thing for me as not only did it mean a payrise but it also showed me I can succeed at this. My confidence and belief in my abilities has sky rocketed and I feel like I can take on the world. My customers are amazing people and their support is phenomenal. They know I have a dream and they are happy to recommend the products to their friends because they love the products themselves. The products really do sell themselves its just down to me to get people to know the brand.

Life.

Just so this Blog is not all about Younique I thought I’d share a few thoughts.

Isn’t it funny how life can bring so many people into your life and then so quickly take them away. I’m not talking about anything morbid here I mean the people that just pass though our lives and then disappear, the ones you were sure were going to be around for a long time but quickly slip away.  believe that everyone who passes though teaches us something. They teach us to not take things for granted and that life really is what you make it. They can bring out our best sides and also our worst, which can show us our strengths and weaknesses.

Recently I’ve noticed a transition in my life with the people I’ve met and although not everyone I’ve put my trust in have deserved it  other people I wasn’t sure about have actually become amazing friends. It just shows you never know who’s gonna stick around and who’s just passing though.

You Get Out What You Put In

Hi everyone.

Sorry I haven’t posted in a while its been a crazy couple of weeks. Most importantly my Son turned 2 yesterday. I’m so Proud of him and how hes growing up. Hes learning to speak Spanish and English at the same time and its totally overwhelming for me to watch.

Other big news is Younique is officially live now here in Spain. So I’ve been working harder than ever to get my business going and its true like my title says, ‘You get out what you put in’. Yes, i’m working hard and because of that i’m also starting to see results. I am also gaining a lot of new friends and reconnecting with people, which is so rewarding for me. We pass through life so quickly we sometimes lose touch with people unintentionally. The big plus for me though is my self confidence has doubled in the last month and a few days since I started this journey with Younique. I feel so much better as a person and most importantly as a mother. I’m not doubting myself as much and I’ve finally been able to put some past demons where they belong…. In the past.

This journey is not taking the form I expected it to take at all, it is so much better.

 

Work All Day and Work All Night

So here I am again sitting at my computer into the early hours researching my business, connecting with people and drinking coffee at 23.30 to stay awake and sometimes I think I must be crazy. I mean, I have a job and it pays enough to cover the bills and I work 6 days a week and I don’t see my son as much as I would like and he’s in bed by the time I get home most of the time and…….. oh damn I forgot the positives. There you have it really, there’s my reason. That’s where my crazy idea came from. Maybe just maybe there is something else I can be good at. Maybe just maybe I can pick Harry up from school everyday. Maybe just maybe I can be the mum I want to be instead of the mum I have to be. So I keep working and I keep pushing myself to get my business off the ground.

Self Development

So we are told that as we get older we learn more and become wiser (in theory). Over the years we grow as a person because of the situations we come across and we put ourselves in. This means when we come to the end of our time on earth we should have developed all the necessary skills to be the best person we can be. But shouldn’t we strive to learn these skills earlier than this? At the end of our time its too late and although we have hopefully passed some knowledge on to the people around us over the years, shouldn’t we have lived that knowledge before its too late.

In this business we are encouraged to work on personal development as a skill to help with sales, recruitment and to make us better people. So, although a little skeptical at first I have bitten the bullet and downloaded ‘The Secret’ and ‘Face the Fear and Do It Anyway’ and I have to say although only half way through at the moment it is changing the way I think and feel in my life. I wont start preaching about how the books have changed my life but I will say it has changed the way I do things and how I handle situations and that alone has boosted my confidence.

Younique Slurge and Lip Stain Review

Hi All

So I decided to try out Younique’s Slurge Cream Eye Shadow in Elegant and Lip Stain in Shy on a family day out to Valencia. It was a hot day and I knew we would be out all day, so the ideal opportunity to see if they would live up to the claims of lasting all day and not creasing in the case of the Eye Shadow. I have got to say I was impressed I did not take the make up with me to touch up and with a nearly 2 year old running around, trust me I don’t have time to keep looking in the mirror and reapplying Make up.

The Eye Shadow did not crease at all, not even in the Spanish heat and in fact it was still on the next morning, as I was so tired when we got home I didn’t even bother to take my make up off.

The Lip Stain goes on Matte and I put a little clear Lip gloss on over the top once it had dried. It takes a couple of minutes to dry and then your all set for the day. Over the course of 9 hours it faded slightly but the colour was still obvious and it was totally Smooch and Cup proof too.
